As I've been proudly screaming over the past week on social media: I did a thing!
That "thing" is my debut book, Write Like You Mean It: Mastering Your Passion For The Written Word. My goal for this book, tentatively slated to release on September 14, 2021, is to have a down-to-earth conversation about writing. More importantly, I want to equip aspiring writers from all walks of life with trade secrets, versatile tools, actionable steps, and the inspiration they need to step out and write like they mean it!
This project has been nearly 20 months in the making, and with help from Brown Books Publishing Group in Dallas, it means the world to me that I can finally share it with you.
Write Like You Mean It is available to pre-order now at this link: https://amzn.to/3BlwHic.
Over the next few weeks leading up to the launch, I'll be sharing a few things here and there about the book to hopefully spark your interest even more.
If you are a writer, I urge you to grab a copy.

Just a few of the topics discussed in this book include:

What people are saying about Write Like You Mean It
"Write Like You Mean It means putting all your heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into your passion for writing. Our words are our stock in trade. We are craftsmen. We are artists. Furthermore, our audience deserves to see and feel each word we put on a page. I want readers to realize that whatever they’ve written deserves to see the light of day rather than being tucked away on a dusty bedroom shelf somewhere. They need to believe in themselves, and they need to believe in their writing. I think the tools, tips, life hacks, resources, and examples in this book will help writers from all walks of life write like they mean it. —Steve Gamel, President & Owner of Edit This®
“Steve’s book is as honest, transparent and realistic a book about writing as I’ve read in a very long time. His approach offers . . . insights, advice, and sensible strategies to stop procrastinating and start writing.”—Neil Foote, Principal Lecturer, Mayborn School of Journalism and Director, Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference
“Valuable as a refresher for even the most experienced writers. Gives a good overview of many nonfiction writing opportunities and sound info for fiction writers.” —Les Edgerton, Author of Finding Your Voice and Hooked
“In Write Like You Mean It, Steve Gamel blazes a trail for aspiring writers. It is no surprise to find that Steve’s writing itself is clear and understandable. The book is easy to read, and the stories are memorable. This guide provides numerous practical tips and suggestions to help you deal with the challenges of writing and getting published. Whether you are an experienced writer or a novice hoping to be, digest this book.” —Tim Stevenson, Master Sherpa Executive Coach and Author of Better: The Fundamentals of Leadership
