The positive reviews for my book, Write Like You Mean It: Mastering Your Passion For The Written Word, has been nothing short of amazing. But two recent ones, in particular, show how motivating and inspiring this book is for many of my fellow writers.
The first I'd like to point out came from an old client. We hadn't spoken in three years, but he reached out to tell me that after buying my book, he couldn't pry it out of his wife's hands.
My wife picked up your book and can't put it down. Her words ... 'In 5 pages, [it's like] he is speaking directly to me.' You clearly outlined to her all the reasons she hasn't written more. She will give a full review once finished.
The second came last week during a Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce meeting. We had just finished up, and a nice lady I barely know asked if she could buy a copy.
Naturally, I said yes and put the one I had on me in her hands immediately.
The very next morning, I got this text message from her.
Hi, Steve. I am almost done with your book. It has inspired me to go ahead and write my next book. Your book provides concise steps, practical advice, and motivation. Would it be OK if I ask you to be my accountability partner? It will only consist of me telling you a deadline and reporting on my progress. Thanks for the motivation!
Positive reviews are fantastic, but to hear directly from people who aspire to achieve more from their writing life and see my book as a motivator to propel them forward is a blessing.
Tell Me More About Write Like You Mean It
Write Like You Mean It is the next great book for writers. It is for writers of all experience levels, genres, and professional pursuits (journalists, college writers, aspiring freelancers, future novelists, etc.), and perhaps what makes it so relatable is that it isn't written in a boring textbook kind of way.
Using stories from my early years and frequent foibles as a journalist, I equip aspiring writers with trade tips to learn, tools to utilize, and lessons to write stronger content. Simple steps in each chapter break down the productivity practices of creatives, the organization needed to get to the finish line, and the purpose behind it all: drawing readers in with quality content and style. I discuss the intentional processes behind organizing ideas, conducting interviews, beating writer's block, networking, editing, and publishing.
The point is that whether you're an old hand at writing, a novice, or a college professor aspiring to write full-time, this book is for you, so you too can Write Like You Mean It!
