Upcoming Event: Steve Gamel Writing Workshops, Class No. 9

The eighth installment of the "Steve Gamel Writing Workshops" went off without a hitch on August 8, and now it's time to start focusing on the next one. That's right—registration is officially open for my September 12 workshop: Know Your Value: How To Price Your Work.

I meet writers all the time who have an incredible passion for writing. And more often than not, they want it to be more than just a hobby or something they do on the side.

They want it to be a career! But for that to happen, you have to make decent money!

So, once you've marketed yourself as a local writer, business owner, author, etc., and have clients and readers interested in your work, how do you charge appropriately?

We'll talk about this at length in my next workshop, including:

  • Factors that determine pricing

  • Different pricing structures

  • How to charge what's fair

  • Knowing your value (worth)

  • Having the money convo

  • How to negotiate

  • When to say yes or no to a job

Please register today!

Why Attend Writing Workshops?

I've always believed the worst thing any professional writer can do is spend decades perfecting their craft only to keep all those trade secrets, tips, tricks, and life hacks to themselves. As writers, we should educate and inspire the next generation, relying on our successes and failures to share what works, what doesn't, and how to steer others in the right direction.

It's the reason I wrote my book, Write Like You Mean It: Mastering Your Passion for the Written Word, and it's the reason I've started these writing workshops.

For now, these writing workshops are in-person events only. Space is also limited. So, if you're interested in joining us, please don't wait until the last minute. The QR code/link to register is in the image above, and the cost is $59 per person.

The cost covers light snacks, an excellent presentation, Q&A time, and networking. I will also have copies of my book available for purchase.

I can't wait to see you on September 12.

Thank you for reading!
